Traditional Royal iced designs
Originally, bridal cakes were coated in Royal icing, which gives a hard & more structured finish. We have a portfolio specifically for this type of cake, incorporating trellises, ornate pipe work, sugar decorations and hand made flowers.
Modern soft iced with hand made flowers
In recent times sugar paste has become a popular coating for bridal cakes. This gives a smooth rounded finish to the surface of the icing and lends itself to embossing, icing flowers and all sorts of decorative possibilities.
Novelty cakes with fun themes
The world is your oyster - especially if you're having a themed wedding. Have your guests on a top table cake - choose from cars, helter-skelters, carriages or desert islands. Are you getting married abroad? Then why not theme your cake around the country where you’re getting married? Maybe you’re getting married in Las Vegas; a Casino theme perhaps or the Maldives; a beach theme with sea shells and lapping blue waves or the highlands of Scotland in a castle, bring a picture of the castle in and we’ll replicate it for you. We will even model characters’ to look like the bride, groom, bridesmaids, best man, in your wedding attire, highland dress or military uniform. The choices are endless!
Chocolate wedding cakes, alternative types of sponge and Cup Cakes
Due to the extensive display of cakes in the shop we now have a dedicated area displaying our chocolate creations. Call in to see over 25 chocolate wedding cakes on display and view our portfolios of over 50 designs, (with more designs being added frequently).
Choose from Devils chocolate cake which is a dark yet light sponge of rich chocolate filled with butter cream or our traditional chocolate cake, which is light in flavour but more suitable for stacked wedding cakes and filled with Belgian chocolate ganache. The chocolate cakes can be covered with chocolate sugar paste or for the more adventurous, sculptured chocolate and fruit.
Pipedreams Cake Design are one of a handful of cake decorators to have professional facilities for chocolate couverture preparation, allowing us to be even more creative thus giving the artisan approach.
Our deliciously light Genoese sponge filled with seedless raspberry jam and butter cream is a delightful alternative along with lemon sponge which is filled with lemon curd and butter cream or lightly spiced carrot cake, filled with our own recipe of light butter cream.
Cup cakes are available in any type of sponge and decorated as you choose. A swirl of butter cream, a flower or a edible picture of yourself adds a bit of fun to any party. Our vast display of stands are a wonderful way to show off your masterpieces, some of which are custom made to our own bespoke designs.
